Jacob grew up in the Bloomington area and attended Indiana University. He graduated with a B.S. in Informatics in 2007. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Office of International Services. He has held numerous positions in the office, ranging from computer support to marketing.

Jacob earned an M.B.A. and M.S. in Marketing from IU's Kelley School of Business in 2016.

Jacob's commute to work is an hour each way, which gives him plenty of time to listen to various podcasts, audiobooks, or the radio.
