The 3rd annual Indoor World Cup is a 5-a-side indoor soccer game. This year the tournament will take place November 9 at SRSC.
Tournament Set-up: The tournament follows a knock out style bracket, with a maximum of 16 teams. Each team will be randomly assigned to play against another team. Winning teams will proceed to the next stage and be randomly assigned to play against other winning teams. This will go on until Semi-Finals and Finals. Penalty kicks (3) will be taken if matches result in a tie.
Team Eligibility: Each team is required to have at least 7 eligible players, all of whom must be listed on the entry form at time of submission. Unlimited subbing is allowed, and teams may have a total of ten members. All names must be submitted by October 27. There will be no day-of registration. Eligible players constitute any current IU student or scholar with a valid ID.
To represent a country or region, each team must have at least two players from that country or region. Regional teams are at the discretion of OIS. No ‘world’ teams will be allowed.
Games will begin on Saturday, November 9 at 8:30 a.m. and continue through until 8:30 p.m. Players must present valid IDs prior to their opening match on game day. Failure to do so may result in loss of that player for the game.
The event organizers have the final word on any disputes. OIS and ISC reserve the right to disqualify any team. Any questions should be directed to OIS Coordinator, Katie Goodroad.
