How To Apply

The Media School administers this scholarship and matches students primarily through IU’s Selective Scholarship Application. To be eligible to complete the SSA, you must apply for admission to IU by November 1 and indicate your interest in journalism, media, or game design. Once admitted, top students will be invited to complete the SSA. In previous years, students invited to complete the SSA for The Media School have had SAT scores upward of 1280 and ACT scores of at least 27, and GPAs of 3.6 or higher. International students who complete the SSA will automatically be considered for the Schurz award.

Students who apply to IU after November 1 or do not qualify for the SSA may complete a separate application to be considered for the Schurz Scholarship. We recommend applying by February 1 for full consideration.
